Helping Organizations Improve the Way They Lead, Deliver, and Grow

The Agilist LLC was founded with a simple belief: every organization deserves an approach to Agile that fits its people, culture, and goals.

Too often, companies are handed a framework and expected to force their teams into it. The result is usually frustration, confusion, and process for the sake of process. At The Agilist, we believe Agile should be practical, flexible, and designed around the way your organization works.

We partner with organizations to improve delivery, strengthen leadership, develop teams, and create sustainable ways of working that last. Whether that means supporting an enterprise Agile transformation, coaching leaders, helping teams improve collaboration, or delivering training and certifications, our focus is always the same: helping people work better together.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help organizations improve delivery, strengthen leadership, and create cultures of continuous improvement through practical Agile coaching, transformation, and training.

We believe that every organization is unique. That is why we tailor our approach rather than applying a one size fits all model. We work closely with leaders, teams, and individuals to understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and build solutions that create lasting results.

Our goal is not simply to help organizations adopt Agile terminology or ceremonies. We help organizations create stronger alignment, clearer accountability, healthier teams, and better business outcomes through ways of working that are practical and sustainable.

Meet The Founder

The Agilist LLC was founded by Dan Willford, an Agile transformation leader with experience across software development, coaching, product delivery, and organizational change.

Dan began his career as a developer before moving into Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and leadership roles. Over the years, he has led Agile transformations across large organizations, created Agile Centers of Excellence, built role based training programs, coached executives and leaders, and supported teams at every level of the organization.

Throughout his career, Dan has helped organizations improve team structures, delivery practices, leadership alignment, and Agile maturity. He has designed and implemented Agile frameworks, supported enterprise level transformations, developed internal certification programs, and coached leaders through large scale organizational change.

Dan is also the author of the book Cohort Thinking: Restructuring Agile Teams for Sustainable Scale. The book explores how organizations can reduce communication overhead, improve ownership, strengthen resiliency, and create more effective team structures through a cohort based approach to Agile scaling.

His background combines technical delivery experience, executive coaching, training, leadership development, and organizational design. This gives The Agilist a practical perspective that balances theory with real world application.
